Gabriela Massip Figueredo is a documentary producer of wildlife, science and historical programs. She has contributed to productions for PBS, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, CuriosityStream, CCTV, the Okeanos Foundation, Cornell University’s Lab of Ornithology, Nickelodeon and Netflix, including the EMMY-nominated production SHARK BEACH with ANTHONY MACKIE.

Her work has brought her to several continents and oceans, most recently as Executive Producer of a PBS Digital science series, winning a PBS and National Science Foundation-funded science communication grant. Working in English, French and Spanish, Gabriela has co-produced and field produced multiple National Geographic shark programs. While at the Okeanos Foundation, she supported conservation efforts with Indigenous Pacific Islanders and governments. She attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Germany and two UN Ocean Conferences as part of the Palau delegation.

Gabriela is pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Toronto in Human Geography, recruited as the only international student in her cohort. In 2026, she was selected as a Term Member of the Explorers Club and, in 2024, served as a mentor for National Geographic's Field Ready Program. She is a Fellow of the inaugural Jackson Wild Latinx Media Lab and was an Ocean Fellow at the 2023 Jackson Wild Summit. She has been a guest lecturer and invited speaker at the University of Toronto, Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology, Rutgers University, George Mason University, and the Sharks International Conference.

Outside of filming, Gabriela is an amateur triathlete and currently learning to ocean canoe.
